With the only real hurdle being the time it takes for the glue to dry, as well as shaping hills and such. But during the 'downtime' I decided to start work on some walls as well. I've been a bit lax this week in my progress, but there 'has' been progress. Took a few days off to look over new sources for ideas, and to decide on how to deal with a detailing issue on the buildings. And it has paid off. I've decided to mix between Chinese and Japanese style roofs on the buildings, all oriental after all. Can't say I'm fond of the Stormblade figs at all, they have some issues with negative spaces.







Overall they came out quite well at a high tabletop standard. Once finished and sealed I put them up on Ebay. So anyone looking for a 32 pt force to build from, check it out. I priced it pretty reasonably.

Dreadfleet is an all inclusive game, with everything you need to play included. The cloth playing surface is very cool, and the game mechanics are definitely well thought out. Seeing as I have 2 months until the Diecon GT, I realized I need to get working on lists and testing lists. It is a 2000 point tournament, and I'll be using my Blood Angels successors, so I have the basics for working on this. I started with a shade/weathering layer of black, then stippled it with beastial brown and a leather brown. Over which I sponged a fair amount of masking fluid. Some use nothing but resin bases, which they paint, others use sand, etc. etc. etc. Many start with basic 'flocking material', you know the stuff, green, a slight breeze (or a sneeze) and it gets everywhere, and it never matches any gaming surface (except maybe felt cloth). Others get some hobby sand and use it, painting it, or not.

Painting leather starts with deciding if it will be a polished leather, or a dull more natural or worn leather. I'm thinking daylight bulb would be cheapest to go with, rather than a full lighting rig. As I'm finding the bulbs I currently use give a yellow cast when taking pictures, which I then have to adjust levels in photoshop to fix the pictures. Getting down to work finishing up the main points of my Knight of Bal Timorea, as well as sculpting several Space Marine shoulderpads.

Having decided on the final colors for the knight, I got to work. Starting with the darkest shades on the armor, and the medium tones on the clothing. A small team tasked with inacting the will of the Ordo Xenos, and defending the Emperium from its many enemies. Which means I have to go buy my 4th liquid cooler for my PC in the last 2 years. From personal experience, I will have to say, do NOT buy the Domino liquid cooler systems for any PC.
